Benefits of Membership
Membership of Deane Golf Club opens many benefits to golfers and also gives them a voice in the operation of the club.
- Unlimited access - Use of the course when you like and as often as you like.
- No crowds - A normal round of 18 holes takes just over three hours but if you haven’t three hours to spare try 12.
- Competitive golf - Full programme of Summer and Winter fixtures at the weekends and midweek for all members.
- Use of the practice facilities - Free use of the club practice facilities and access to lessons from the club professional.
- Official handicap - Opportunity to gain an official handicap which will be stored on the EGU central database of handicaps.
- Track your golf on line - Access to competition results and handicap on line with the HowDidIDo website and emails of the competition results as they happen.
- Membership of county associations - As a member of Deane GC you are also a member of the Bolton, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and England associations. This gives you access to their competitions.
- Play in matches against other clubs - Opportunity to play in club teams home and away against other clubs.

- Restaurant and bar - Use of a large and attractive function room, overlooking the course, bar and sports lounge. Membership discounts of 20% in the bar and 10% off food.

- As a member of Deane Golf Club you are not simply becoming a member of an historic Bolton Club with a BGA Championship course but you are gaining access to a large number of associated courses at reduced fees.
County cards and reciprocal agreements
1906 Association - Deane GC is a member of the 1906 association made up of clubs founded in that year. Members can play at any of the clubs outside a 50 mile radius once a year free of charge. There are 40 clubs in the association including one in Switzerland
County Card - As a member of a Lancashire golf club you can purchase a County card for £10 per year. On presentation of the card you can play at participating golf clubs for half the green fee. There are at present 69 participating clubs in Lancashire and 1180 throughout England.
Reciprocal agreement clubs - Deane Golf Club has a reciprocal agreement with a number of other clubs to allow the club members to play at half the full visitors green fee subject to these conditions:
- Monday to Friday only
- Subject to availability
- Members must phone in advance to arrange a tee time
- Members must take a current handicap certificate as evidence of club membership
- Maximum 8 players, playing in 2, 3 or 4 ball format.
- Tee time to be booked a maximum of 14 days in advance.
There are at present 62 clubs on the reciprocal agreement list including local clubs and clubs as far afield as Evesham GC and The Worcestershire GC.
